The Eighth Generation team has selected 13 semi-finalists after a tough and careful review of over 200 submissions from talented artists all across Indian Country! This blog announces the remaining 7. Check out our blog announcing the first 6 Semi-Finalists! After a period of community feedback, we will decide on the final 4.
We encourage you to show love and support for this year's semi-finalists (and the previously highlighted Honorable Mentions)by leaving a comment about your favorites! And remember - the pieces below are samples of the artists' broader work, not necessarily wool blanket designs - so you'll have to use your imagination! i gave a gift of Pat Bruderer’s art to friends at their wedding. The marriage didn’t last but the separation was amicable. Pat’s framed birchbark biting was one of the few things they fought over. True story!

Pat Bruderer’s rare art form would be beautiful on a blanket, nature and life are reflected in this piece and the dragonfly is exquisite.

All of these designs are wonderful but I would buy the IKERSON HOPPER – ONONDAGA NATION blanket for sure – it’s just different, it tells a story and leaves the viewer wondering. Best entry, thanks for asking 😃
