The Heroes Behind the Mask

Join us in celebrating some of Seattle’s frontline healthcare workers! We’re honoring them by sharing their portraits, as well as some fun facts about their lives which they’ve placed on pause while they fight the pandemic. You can participate by offering some kind words in the comments below. We’ll make sure they have a chance to read them, as your words may bring them much needed comfort and a smile after a hard day’s work.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit Seattle back in March, the incredible staff of the Seattle Indian Health Board and Chief Seattle Club have been providing life-saving services to our most vulnerable citizens. Their service is emblematic of the selfless work being done in clinics and hospitals around the world.  While it’s impossible for our small business to pitch in everywhere, we are proud to know that our donation of over 10,000 pieces of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) has helped keep these local heroes a little safer. 

Amy Chabitnoy (Aleut/Unangan) is a medical professional that plays soccer and basketball when she isn’t serving the community on the front line.

Connie Benally (Samish/Lummi) teaches basketball when she isn’t providing emergency dental services.

Jayne Gaubatz is a medical professional that speaks Malagasy-the Austronesian language and the national language of Madagascar.

Kim Randle is a dental professional and Makeup Artist.

Matthew Westman is a medical professional that was previously a biologist in the fishing industry.

Ray Williams (Swinomish) is a traditional healer at Chief Seattle Club. 

Tyler Tabor, Patient Information is an avid cyclist that, at one point, owned 32 bikes.

We raise our hands in gratitude to the amazing folks at Seattle Indian Health Board, Chief Seattle Club and beyond who have been working tirelessly to provide critical services to all of us throughout the pandemic.
