Continue ShoppingEighth Generation's Retail and Special Projects Manager, Stephanie Masterman (Tlingit), has been named to the prestigious Top 40 Under 40 list by the National Center for American Indian Economic Development. At 25 years old, Stephanie is among the youngest to receive this honor.
Incredibly, Stephanie is one of two Eighth Generation staff to receive the 2020 Native American 40 Under 40 award, which recognizes top leaders from across the country who exemplify leadership, initiative, resiliency and dedication toward their communities. Serene Lawrence (Anishinaabe, Hopi), our Chief Operations Officer, was also named to this year's list.
Stephanie (Sxhaalghen) is Alaska Native and belongs to the Tlingit Wooshkeetaan clan from the village of Hoonah. From managing retail activities and projects for Eighth Generation's Pike Place Market and headquarters, to being chosen as a future leader by her tribal community and the city of Juneau, she embodies Native excellence.
Stephanie has the ability to blend strong cultural, community knowledge and a desire to advocate for social issues impacting Native communities with pragmatic decision-making. This characteristic – along with her expertise in skills like staff training for retail, merchandising and inventory management – is a major reason why Eighth Generation is one of the fastest growing and most influential Native-owned companies in the country.
Join us in celebrating Stephanie! We are so thankful to have her on our team!
