Is Eighth Generation Part of Your Life Yet? Customers Share Sweet Stories

As our Indigenous-owned small business grows into the first global brand of its kind, we’d like to thank our customers for your perpetual support! When you share stories with us about Eighth Generation products – whether in person, over the phone, on email or through social media – you’re valuing authentic narratives by Inspired Natives, rather than “Native-inspired” products and falsehoods.

We love seeing how our gifts blend into your lives. In fact, our Communication Specialist, Natasha, shares your stories with our team to spread the good medicine! Check out some of our customers’ thoughtful messages and testimonials below:

Bought the prettiest scarf by Eighth Generation and had to show it off 🤍 Design made by Acoma Pueblo artist, Michelle Lowden. The “Balance” silk scarf represents an aspiration to be balanced and intentional, both things I desire to be everyday. Thank you.

"I want to express my thanks to the Eighth Generation family! Earlier this year I ordered one of your blankets as a birthday gift for my Mom. We loved it so much that we decided to order most of our gifts for loved ones from you this holiday season. Thank you for championing Indigenous artists, and for helping to share such beautiful, strong work with the world. I know my family will cherish their blankets. Blessings and gratitude to you and your family, from me and mine."

"Sipping some golden chai and snuggling our new Eighth Generation blanket to warm up after sledding and hiking. This cotton/acrylic blend worked well to resist some of the snow melt and was so soft! I also love that the blanket is designed by a local Indigenous artist - SiSeeNaxAlt (Gail White Eagle) from the Muckleshoot and Chehalis Tribes."

"I want to thank you and all Eighth Generation staff and artists. In the last 6 months I have ordered 3 gifts for friends and relatives. I can't tell you how much each was appreciated. I am so happy that I found your shop. My grandfather was Ojibwe and spent his youth in an Indian School after he was orphaned. He went on to join the Navy and come out to California far away from his people. In 1982 I went with him back to Wisconsin and visited where he was born, visited the Bad River Tribe where his father was from and even drove past the old Indian School in Hayward, WI. The gifts you offer make me feel closer to my grandfather and to recapture a little of the culture that was stolen from him and later us."

"Rest, bbs ✨ Luis and I have been wondering if we might the first generation in our families that can intentionally integrate rest into our everyday lives. Not a once-a-year vacation, or passing out from exhaustion after work, but an active choosing to descansar/"remove the fatigue" without needing an excuse. Resting without guilt to honor all my ancestors who couldn't."

"Dear team at Eighth Generation,
I wanted to thank you for helping my mother order my Coast Salish blanket for my 40th birthday. It just arrived today and I couldn't be more surprised and grateful to my mother and to you for helping her. She specifically told me that she got great service from you and was so impressed with your kindness. I have been a huge fan of your company, following you on IG, and doing what I can to promote your brand. Just this morning, I entered your giveaway on IG, and then like a little miracle, my gift from my mother arrived...I love what you stand for and will continue to be a loyal fan. Enjoy this winter season with your loved ones. Stay safe."

"Arrived home from our honeymoon today. Still dreamy from this beautiful evening. Also our wedding was freezing cold, but this Eighth Generation wool blanket with art by Louie Gong (Nooksack) kept me nice and toasty warm. It also was acknowledging the Coastal Salish People whose land we stood on for our beautiful day.📍land of the Klallam and Twana/ Skokomish People."

"I just wanted to reach out and say thank you. I just ordered 2 pairs of hummingbird earrings for 2 new grandmothers. My fiancé and I just had our first kid- a boy! He is the first grandchild on both sides of the family, so everyone is VERY excited. My own grandmother (my Mom's mom) died when my Mom was only 20 years old. My Aunt said that she visits as a hummingbird, so these earrings mean so much to me to be able to give to my mother and mother in law. To have our ancestors right at their ears whispering to them feels so magical. I believe I have Louie Gong to thank for the beautiful design. Thanks Louie and everyone too! Health and Happiness."

"Recently, I was blanket wrapped by my community for my work creating art and teaching about our beautiful Bodéwadmi culture. It was an honor for me because I was able to recognize my family, elders, mentors, and teachers; the ones who grew me. I believe we all have our purpose. The greatest gift is how we choose to explore it and share it, in a good way. I’m thankful for all the people, tribes, galleries, and institutions that have supported me on my recent journeys. Wéwéne ☀️"
